Adding Comms to GE9030 with 313 CPU

I'm servicing a machine with a IC693CPU313W CPU. This is the low cost embedded type. Per Steve Bailey's post # 2 here in this thread, I can't use an IC693CMM311 Serial communications adapter to add a serial port.
Quickpanel HMI connected to the serial port, leaving nothing to connect PC.
Can I add an IC693CMM321 Ethernet module to communicate with Proficy ME?
What other options do I have?

The CMM321 module is compatible with the CPU313 as long as you have an available slot.
What is preventing you from disconnecting the HMI while you are working on the PLC program with Proficy Machine Edition?

Want to Start, Stop, and monitor values with HMI while monitoring operation with Proficy ME.
I guess I could start it, then connect software to monitor, and use overrides to simulate HMI.
Adding a module seemed easier.
