Anyone know how to setup WinXP hyperterminal to talk with a Fanuc O-M 10?

Don't know about that machine but here is what you can try
with your Hyperterminal:
- start it of course
- enter name of connection (just type in name of the
machine or anything...)
- in "Connect To" dialog select COM port you intend to use
or if it is ethernet, select "TCP/IP (Winsock)"
and enter setting of the port you are connecting to.
For ethernet use IP address of the machine and port number,
for serial click on Configure button and set same parameters
as on machine (baud rate, parity, handshaking etc.).
- Click onSettings (or use Properties -> Settings if
accessing through menu) and configure your interface.
For example choose "Windows keys" and in "ASCII Setup"
put checks everywhere except "Force incoming data in 7-bit".
- Click on Call

update:

* I can send files to it using the DOS mode copy command fine.

* I can recieve data through the hyperterminal using Kermit protocol.

still can't send files through hyper, but i have a work around anyway.

p.s. i hate windows XP, it is a spoiled brat OS.
