ASCII over ethernet - rockwell

hi guys!
I need to communicate a device with my 1756-L8, im confused about the class, instance and attribute i should use to send ASCII commands using a socket. Any advice for this?

(The device is a HIPot tester)

If possible, save yourself a lot of bit bashing and use the AOI they have available now:

You will need to know the IP Address and Port of your device. Having the programming/interface manual for it helps as well.

My first thought is that can it talk in any other, easier to manage, protocol?
