Baldor DMS stepper drive interface cable

Hi Folks,
This question is a little off topic. This is an integrated drive and motor which requires setup with a PC through a USB to SPI interface cable. My question is can the cable be made or is there a conversion circuit required between the two formats? I am can't afford the cable from my local Baldor rep and am using the motor for learning purposes.
