CCW opening new windows

Hello everyone, hope all is well. I have found the time to start back messing around with my little micro 830 PLC.I remembered how CCW standard edition version 9.00 would open up new windows on its own. Figured this was a bug with the software so installed version 12.00 and it does the same thing. I have tried repairing and uninstalling. Has anyone ever experience this issue? I am using CCW standard edition software on a hp laptop with windows 8. Thanks in advance.
