Chaining 23 Profibus MM430 Drives to CPU

I was wondering John,
Are you talking to the Siemens Drive specialists @ Siemens Melbourne
If so is it John Weir?

Thanks Ian. I don't deal with Siemens Australia for applications outside Australia.

Thanks JRW. Two terminators as there will be two separate CPU's each with 23 drives. They will be separate Profibus chains.

You only need an active bus terminator if, what would otherwise be, the end of the bus will get powered off. If the G120 is the end of the bus then the control units can be supplied with an external 24V so that they don't die when the power to the drive is off.

Do you need to power down the drives? I've only used G120s on Profisafe with Safe Torque Off; Does your chosen control unit support STO from terminals? The S120 drives certainly do so no output contactors required.
