I have an existing system with a Rexroth PPC that only has a serial port over which 4-5 Omron temperature controlers are getting their setpoint. Customer now also want measured value and error signals so I can present them on an HMI.
Previous programmer made his own write command, but with no feedback if it actually arrived, and also nothing to get the measured values etc. I have the Omron manual for compoway/F communication but I have the feeling I am reinventing the wheel.
Is there any library or FB out there that gives a standard interface for the Omron E5Cx units?
Functionality:
Select unitno, send setpoint and on/off command, receive measured value and status word.
