Hello,
currently I have a micrologix 1200 (1762-L40AWAR )connected to an HMI panelview 600(2711-T6C3L1X) via the 1761-net-aic module, I want to connect this plc to the Ethernet network at the same time this plc remains connected to HMI.
see picture bellow : green color what i have actually
red color what i want to add.

it is possible?

thank you a lot

Device Compatibility The ENI/ENIW are compatible with the following devices and
applications:
• All MicroLogix, SLC, PLC-5, CompactLogix, FlexLogix, and
ControlLogix controllers, which support DF1 Full-Duplex on an
available RS-232 port
• Personal Computers using the RSLinx (V2.30.00 and higher) DF1
Full-Duplex Driver
• Other DF1 Full-Duplex compliant products that have at least one
RS-232 port, for example, operator interface devices
• RSLinx (V2.31.00 and higher) Ethernet Drive

From the manual above. The ENI supports DF1 protocol.

Your HMI supports DH485, The PLC's port has to be configured for DH485 protocol.

The AIC is not a protocol converter.

I don't think that will work. But maybe the AB gurus will correct me.

From the catalog number you provided, your PLC has an additional port (programmer/HMI port). You could connect the ENI to that port.

MicroLogix 1200 controllers with the additional communications port
(1762-L24AWAR, 1762-L24BWAR, 1762-L24BXBR, 1762-L40AWAR,
1762-L40BWAR, 1762-L40BXBR) offer advanced communications
options, providing a clean, cost effective solution for applications
requiring a network connection and HMI.
The additional communications port (Programmer/HMI Port) enables
two communication devices to be connected to the controller
simultaneously. For example, it provides local connectivity of an
operator interface or programming terminal such as DF1 PanelView
HMI, IBM-compatible personal computer using RSLogix 500
programming software, or 1747-PSD program storage device, and also
allows the primary port (Channel 0) to be connected to either a
network, a modem, or an ASCII device such as a barcode reader or
weigh scale.

Great catch, Mickey !

That PanelView only supports DH485.

The Net-ENI only support DF1 Full Duplex.

Those two protocols are mutually exclusive and cannot both be connected to the 1761-NET-AIC.

But as Mickey pointed out, you can connect the 1761-NET-ENI separately to the other port of that "R" model of the MicroLogix 1200.

Hello,
sorry i do a mistake the PLC MicroLogix 1200 is 1762-L40AWA with out 'R',
any sugestion?
if i use 1747-DPS1 SLC Port Splitter can works for me?

No. Because the protocol to support your HMI(2711-T6C3L1X) is DH485. The ENI only supports DF1 protocol.

Also the splitter only supports DF1 protocol. see pdf

Maybe this?

Thanks a lot for your help ,
yesterday i made a test , i connected the Net.Eni module directeley to the plc micrologix 1200 with 1 port configured as DH485 , as you said the eni works only with DF1 , but i works , i see the plc in rslinks evec the port in plc is configured as dh485 .

may the splitter works also even the port is dh485
this point is not 100% clear for me .
and how test the prosoft modul befor purchase ?

Did you happen to push the "DCOMM" button before your test?

Use the Communications
Toggle Push Button
The Communications toggle push button is located on the processor under
the processor door (if installed), as shown below.
Use the Communications toggle push button to change from the user-defined
communication configuration to the default communications mode and back
on Channel 0. The parameters of the Programmer/HMI Port are fixed at the
default communications configuration. The Default Communications
(DCOMM) LED operates to show when the controller is in the default
communications mode (settings shown on page 4-2).
TIP The Communications toggle push button must be
pressed and held for one second to activate.
The Communications toggle push button only affects
the communication configuration of Channel
