Has anyone successfully connected a 1785-KE 15 pin serial port to a modern radio RJ45 port using 3 wire standard Tx,Rx,Gnd? No Handshaking?

I am successfully using a 15 to 25 pin connection with some handshaking pins tied together like is often done on an older radio, but I can't make it work with this new (MDS ORBIT) radio.

I'm missing something but just can't see it. If anyone has done this successfully can you share your cable pinout and KE Switch settings?

LE33er: The KE module has a DB15... but I think I worked that wiring out.

Saw a lot of ENQ and NAK in the sniff so I looked at protocol. I am using DF1 RadioModem protocol to a ML1400 my initial test subject... The old KE doesn't offer that option so next week I have to change to FDX or HDX and see how that behaves.

If I can use FDX I can use 3 wire, if I have to use HDX the handshaking is forced upon me.
