Hi,

We are setting up an Aveva Plant SCADA node with the intention to connect it to a Wonderware Historian node.
Everywhere I look online I see I need to use the Citect SCADA Wonderware Historian Connector to enable storage from a Citect node to a Historian node, but now that Citect SCADA is under the Aveva umbrella I can't find any documentation on whether the Historian Connector is still needed, or if it will still work for this application.

Thanks

Using the Citect SCADA Wonderware Historian Connector is significantly easier to configure the Historian than doing this manually or directly.
The downside of this approach is that whenever Plant SCADA is offline so is the Historian data.
It can be better to go direct from the IO device to the Historian eg. via an IOServer to OPC protocol converter/software gateway
