Greetings experts,
Can current transformers be used on the incoming mains (480, 3P) of a machine that has regenerative VFD's? Current transformers care about current polarity, and the secondary current is typically 0-1A or 0-5A. What happens to the current transformer when the VFD is regenerating and current is flowing in the opposite direction? Will damage occur to the transformer and/or the controls input for which the secondary current is terminated to. This is my first experience with regenerative VFDs.
Thanks.
