Difference between Siemens CP5611 and CP5611A2

The CP5611 - A2 is the newer version and it does not support windows 95 and windows 98. Something to bear in mind if you are replacing an older CP5611...

I am not too sure what else is new with the A2 series card

tried replacing a CP5611 with an A2 but somehow it's not recognized. Any ideas?
(using xp pro)

Seems to me like the A2 took some extra software to run it (SIMATIC NET)that I don't know if it was required by the non A2 version. I also want to say there were two versions, depending on exactly how you were going to use it.

Nevermind, went to the Siemens site and they said it was a direct replacement that didn't require any software.

that's the problem. it's supposed to be a direct replacement. but it doesn't seem that way for me.
