Can someone point me in the direction of a stand-alone (not a rack mount, something like a DIN rail mount, independent device) Siemens 4-20mA to Profibus converter?

Either PA or DP is suitable.

I wonder if you could get a temperature transmitter to convert it.
Change the 4-20 to a mV range with the appropriate resistors
Several different transmitters have a mV input option.

Dan are you looking gor a general purpose converter or an actual 4-20mA transducer?
WIKA comes to mind for the sensors with built-in profi and I'm sure others make those as well.
If it is for a general purpose converter I can't help much.

I'm looking for a general purpose converter that will take any 4-20mA signal and put it on a Profibus fieldbus.

That's what the Smar does (it's Class 1, Div 1), but the Acromag is less than half the price for non-hazardous areas. I had no idea Acromag dabbled in Profibus, I'd always used their Modbus modules.
