I cant find the manual for an IQ-550! Allen Bradley/Rockwell used to have the old Electro Craft manuals in a legacy page but it seems they have taken it down. Does anyone know the P5 pinout for one of these or even better where to get the old EC manuals now?

pAGES 54-56 gives some of the pinout I believe...still looking...

EDIT1: Maybe this guy will scan some pages from his manual for you...

EDIT2: An A/B manual which should contain many references to other A/B numbered manuals.

Make sure that the IQ-550 has the Personality Module (PM) properly configured. If necessary, refer
to the Applying Power chapter in the appropriate ULTRA Plus or IQ-Series Installation Manual
(1398-5.1, Part Number 0013-1027-004 or Part Number 0013-1022-004) for step-by-step instructions
on configuring a Personality Module using IQ Master software.

EDIT3: At literature.rockwellautomation.com searching by catalog number "1398" I found this:
http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/in/1398-in001_-en-p.pdf

See the pinout for P5 on page 85 (if this "1398 ULTRA Plus Series Positioning Drive Module" is the same as the Electrocraft device which it appears to be.)

Thanks OkiePC that Vec 200 manual did help some.

The IQ 550 is the brain pack out of an IQ 2000 without the servo drive. It used analog connections to "talk" with just about any servo drive through the P5 connector. After AB acquired the IQ series they Sold the IQ 2000 as a 1398 Ultra Plus, but they never offered their version of the IQ 550(motion controller only). So no AB manuals are available. The IQ master software was used for both types of drives and AB just altered it a little so references can be found all over the Library but I cant find anything on the controller itself. AB did have all these old Electro Craft files for download at one time.... and I had them.... and I lost them!

My experience with Electrocraft began with the Ultra 100 and Ultra 200 from A/B. We still had a bunch of motors made by Electrocraft, and some of their manuals at that time. So, I can't directly comment from experience on the older stuff, I was just hoping to help with some different searching...

Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

Paul

The only thing I have ever done with the old Electrocraft was replace them with a 1398 DDM or a 2098. I have never gotten a chance to play/learn the old controls.

Paul on a side note RedLion has a driver for the AB Ultra 3000 (2098) drives. It works nicely as a master for a stand alone adjustable indexing system.
