Elevator controlled by PLC

Hello guys i am new in plc and i want my final project in our subject to make an elevator at least 3 floors. can anyone outthere help me out in making my project, just give me step by step idea what to do, what materials do i need cos im making a prototype of it, and etc. and i will do the rest.

Take a look in the Downloads section of this Forum.
There is a 4 floor elevator program written by Lancie1 titled "LogixPro Elevator_EX_4.RSL"

This would be a good starting point to use as an example.

You will need a motor, a piece of rope, 3 relais, on for start stop, one for direction and 1 for speed.
2 inputs for a selfmade encoder to see where elevator is.
plus a homeswitch to reset the encoder
on each floor a button to call car
a small tableau with request buttons (normally in lift but better on wood in front of elevator.

first make a simple one going to the floor requested.
next is make it smart, stopping slowly.
make it smarter by using up and down button on each floor.
