Hey guys
I'm having an issue with one of our 90-30 PLCs. It's not communicating. It is off line. I can take a CPU out of another rack and the PLC will communicate just fine. So that narrows my problem to the CPU (I think) but how do you reset faults or anything if I can't go online with it. I am using Proficy 8.5. I am able to connect to other racks. just not this one. I have also changes out the CPU with spares but still not working. Seems like CPU needs configured or something. Why can I take a CPU that is in another rack, stick it in this one and it works? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, but before I can offer any suggestions I need to ask a few more questions.

When you say "not communicating", exactly what do you mean?

What CPU model? What communications port are you trying to use? Ethernet or serial?

Is there an HMI panel that won't communicate with the affected CPU or is the communication problem with Proficy Machine Edition programming software?
