How to open .prx project file with GP-PRO EX 4.09

Hi guys,

I am looking for some help with using GP-PRO to open a project file.

Every time I try to open my project file, I receive a message "Unable to open because an invalid device/PLC is set up. Please select a different project.

The majority of my PLC background is dealing with Mitsubishi using GX and GT Works so I am not very good at using Pro-Face or GP-Pro.

The project file I am trying to open is for a GP-Pro handy panel that connects to our equipment. The handy panel is GP-4311HT.

I would like to be able to open this .prx file on my PC to view the project information as well as run simulation mode so I can visually see the menus as I would on the handy panel. Something similar to how GT Works allows me to view GOT project information and use GOT simulator connected to my GX works sequencer simulator.

I wasn't and I tried the versions it was asking for originally.

Which PLC model is this HMI connected to?

This is the part I always had difficulty in trying to solve.

Our handy panel is connected directly to a VME via RS-422. Our VME is somewhat a black box as the software is created by a third party company so we do not have direct access to that, however, the board on the VME the handy panel connects to is manufactured by Hitachi Zosen and has a manufacturer spec: SIO-8(HIMV-533).

I tried downloading and installing the Hitachi SIO drivers from Pro-Face support site, but this still did not work. It's possible the driver could be some custom package for our SIO-8 boards. I am waiting for confirmation on this.
