Hoping our resident Delta expert will weigh in on this one....
Consider a somewhat hypothetical situation. I say hypothetical because the sales engineer has a potential opportunity and he is asking about our capabilities.
As best I can describe it, it would be a 3-1/4" bore cylinder with a integrated SSI position transducer of 5 um (0.0002") resolution. The cylinder rod would be used much like a syringe to inject a particular volume of material into a cavity. The volume of material needs to be controlled very precisely and is determined by the distance the cylinder strokes. Under normal circumstances, what type of position control accuracy could I realistically expect? Could I control the stroke to within 0.001" with little to no overshoot?
