Hello,

I am trying to learn PLC programming? I am finding it difficult to get to the bottom of this quandary as there are too many, of what looks like, unreliable and or sketchy websites out there asking for money for downloadable training.

Where do I get the software for free or cheap to program for PLC and is there any cheap training hardware to practice with that is representative of a common brand in use such as Allen-Bradley?

Are any of these trainers worth the price?

Thanks for your time

Andrew

The tutorial which begins by clicking the 'Learn PLCs' at the top of this page is free to use and is somewhat AB centric in its treatment. For very complex instruction including hardware you should expect some expense.

In the end, on the job training will be the continuing education aspect. But this is a field where you can never stop learning. Be ready.
