I just upgraded the firmware on a couple of our PowerFlex 525 in one of our machines. The upgrade was from 2.002 to 5.001. I also changed the firmware in the module properties in the CompactLogix controller. The firmware in the controller is 24.11. The VFD's are being controlled via Ethernet. When the machine started, the VFD's, with the upgraded firmware, would run at there minimum frequency values (10Hz). I had to increase minimum frequency in the VFD's in order for the machine to run product. The VFD's that didn't have the firmware changed are operating properly. I can't find where the speed reference is coming from. I looked in both the controller tags and the program. RA tech support was called and they didn't have any answers. I do not want to go back to ver 2.002 if it can be helped. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks!!

In the controller tags look for "VFD_NAME_HERE:O.FreqCommand" if that doesn't exist, then its using MSG commands that you'll have to search for. It sounds like its using MSG commands and possibly one of the MSG is now Erroring.

Also to add to IndustMech, P47 should be set to Ethernet/IP, not Network Opt or anything else.

Check the IP address in the drive. Parameters C129 - C132
