Howdy Everyone,
I am doing a project with micrologix 1400 1762-L32BWA, where we talk thru message bits one direction and talk thru the discrete I/O the other way to get two PLC to talk. Long story why we cant just get the two to talk, but this was the cheapest fastest route. THey were all ordered cause it is on 5 machines. THen i realized all that is available is 120v I/O on the discrete side. i know i can use 120v on the outputs of the micrologix 1400. I will have to use 24v on the input side. My question is the user power that is in the top left corner of the PLC. i swear someone once told me there is a reason not to use it, or restrictions, but i cannot remember for the life of me. All the other machines we have just use external 24v so it isn't an issue. All I need the 24 V for is when the outputs of the 120v plc close the relay it gives me 2 different inputs on the micrologix, so it isn't pulling alot. Just wanted to see if anyone knew of restrictions before i started trying to use those. thank you.
