Hey Guys,

Can I get some advise, we are building an electrical panel for a customer in Europe. Section 11.2.2 in EN 60204-1 requires separation of non-electrical components from the electrical panel.

Can someone please verify this is in relation to pneumatic components and not just something like hydraulic or leakage from other fluids.

No big deal building another enclosure just want to see what the experts think and what is standard in Europe. Would be good to hear some feedback and bear in mind we need to CE mark this machine once complete.

Thanks appreciate any feedback.

I cannot reply as to your request, but I will state
that pneumatics and hydraulics are not allowed in the main electrical panel in the USA. I cannot cite the code as I don't have it with me but my experiences below should let you know why it is not a good idea.

I no longer allow this as I have had an airline bust and fill the panel with 6" of
water before the problem was discovered.
I have also had a sister plant from up north build a panel with pneumatics in the panel and the oil from the airlines got on everything and even ruined 2 PV terminals.

regards,
james
