I have an older (2006) Panasonic FP-X C14R that i need to connect to. I have zero experience with Panasonic PLC's and the FPWIN Pro7 software. When i try to upload the program from the PLC to my laptop i keep getting a error message that reads (The target data does not exist in the comment memory) i know i have a connection because the software displays weather the PLC is in run or program. Anyone know why this i keep getting this error? I have plenty of experience with AB but none with this brand.

If I remember correctly, these are the same as the Mitsubishi PLC's, the error sounds like you are trying to upload the comments, however, the comments probably do not exist, These are only available if they have been downloaded to the PLC, I have never tried it but a fellow colleague of mine had a similar problem on a Mitsubishi, I have never used FPWin but when you upload try just uploading the plc program & parameters I assume as it is very similar to GXWorks it will have tick boxes of what to upload, just untick the comment box.
As I say, this is only a guess as I have not used FPWin but the programming is so similar.
EDIT: The on line operation shown is for simulator so I could only bring up the Write operation as the simulator greys out comment upload, however, you will do a read which looks similar.
