Panelview to MicroLogix 1100 memory store

To use your 2711-B6C16 ( a DF1 protocol PV) you would have to configure the ML1100 serial port to DF1. An AIC is not a protocol converter, its a media converter/isolator. ( RS232 to RS485(DH485)

i made you a schema to convert RS232 port to RS485 port
using 1763NC01 cable,
if don't work, use a 120 ohm resistor bitween TxRxD+ and TxRxD-
if you don't have the 1763NC01 cable i can help you to build one

I suspect this is more of a functional/firmware issue than a simple communications protocol or wiring issue.

PanelView Standard terminals with DH-485 protocol support a feature in which you configure them as though they are writing to the Run/Program Mode and Store/Load EEPROM status bits. Instead of actually writing to those bits, the PanelView sends a specific A-B command code to perform those functions.

This function was developed for the SLC-5/03 controller and to my knowledge works with the SLC-5/03, 5/04, 5/05 and the MicroLogix 1200 and 1500 controllers.

Bitmore's original question was about PanelView Standard terminals using DF1, and about MicroLogix 1100 (whose operating system and EEPROM functionality is slightly different from the SLC-5/0x controllers).

After all that exposition... I don't know. A couple of years ago when I looked into this in detail the feature was only in DH485 equipped terminals, not in terminals with DF1. The documentation I can find on this topic includes the RA Knowledgebase answer ID # 19471, which confirms that PanelView Standard terminals with version 3.30 or later firmware and DH485 protocol can perform this function, and also confirms that it works with the MicroLogix 1100 controller.

It's probably worth a call to RA Tech Support, citing that document.

Thanks for the quick replies, I suspected as much Ken, I looked at the info about using a Micro 1100 and DH485 for memory store function. I guess I'l check out the 440 boys for some ideas. I wonder if I can reflash the firmware and use a rs232 to rs485 converter.
