Panelview600 to Contrologix using DH+

I am using a Panelview 600 with a Contrologix 1756-L63 Processor using DH+ for communication. The system is installed and working on location. My question is, is there anyway I could've done this without using Mapping in Contrologix.

Example: Panelview tag: Panelview Address Contologix tag:
START_PB START_PB START_PB

Also, can I use DINT if I am using mapping with DH+?

I apologize for the dumb questions ahead of time.
