Hi Guys,

I am reading and writing messages between an ML1200 (with ethernet external interface) and my compactlogix L33E via ethernet, the messaging is all being done by the compactlogix. I'm reasonably confident on how to perform the message function. I was just wondering if it is possible or beneficial to put the messaging (it is only 2 message instructions) into a periodic task as, from my research on here, it seems to be customary to perform messaging on a time base anyway. My control system doesn't require high speed data exchange and so to save resources I was thinking of sending the messages every second or so.

What do you think?

Thanks

Jonny
