Morning All.

Anyone out there know what cable I can use to Communicate to a Siemens TP170B via MPI port on a S7-315. I have read several times that the HMI does not like transfering via CPU using Siemens USB adapter.o_O

The only other cables I know of are: -

MPI/PPI & RS232/485.

Advice appreciated

Cheers

the adapater works while is connected to cpu.
For program transfering you can use rs232 null modem cable via IF2 port

Hi DiscEng,

I am not sure what is the problem!
I would use the normal DB9 DB9 cable I am using to program the PLC or a similar one. It is just a MPI cable that you need! If you can program the PLC through the MPI port then you can use the same cable to your panel!

Try it you might be surprised!
