I am looking at some S5 statement list programming involving an extended flag. I can't find the difference from a flag and a extended flag. Any help or a direction to find the answer would be helpful.
Thanks Mike

"Flags" usually means the "Merker" bits Mx.y.

Maybe you mean the extended datablocks, DX ?
These are like normal DBs. As far as I remember it is for when the normal number of DBs supported by a CPU is not enough.

Disclaimer: It is 20+ years since I had to work with S5 :)

If you mean S-flags, their use is restricted compared to M-flags.

As far as I can remember, the S-flags cannot be used as parameters on FB-calls (the bit length of the MC5-code does not 'fit').

I'll look for the manual ...
