Splices in Codulet T

I do use wire nuts for small motor jbox terminations. I have dozens of 1/2 and 3/4 HP 480V motors running that have wire nut terminations that have never had a problem because of the wire nuts.

I can't help think that the dislike for wire nuts come from improper sizing, wire stripping, etc.

if the environment is wet as you say, then the wire should have been thwn if memory serves me correctly.

an open drip leg should not be allowed. what is its purpose?
if it is there to drain the water out of the conduit, then you have a bad installation and it need to be addressed.

I like these "wirenuts" that aren't quite wirenuts for small motor connections:

McMaster-Carr part number: 6878K95

No vibration issues that I've ever seen.
