Hi All,

I am looking for any information on a communication option for a TECO VSD, Part Number JN5-CM-TCPIP.

The VSD manual makes reference to another manual for this option card, but I just cannot find it on the 'net.

I need to be able to connect the VSD(s) to an IDEC PLC via an ethernet switch.

Thanks

You realize (I hope) that this is NOT the actual VFD, this is a TCP/IP Ethernet adapter for a Teco F510 VFD...

Umm, Yes, the VSD(s) (2 of) are in another panel.. And they are a Teco A510 VSD's.

Just been emailing Teco support in Oz, there is not much info on the 'net, hoping that someone else here have used these before

I was directed to download some Lantronix software ("DeviceInstaller") to configure these units with an IP address (similar to A-B's BOOTP utility), but the Lantronix software is not finding the devices...

Sorry, I just re-read your question and you were more clear than I originally thought...

I get accused of being too pro-A-B, but honestly, this is why. I used to work on Teco drives a lot and although they aren't bad as inexpensive shaft turners, when it comes to integrating them into something smarter they leave a lot to be desired. I had a similar experience trying to integrate them into a DeviceNet system with their similar module. I eventually gave up and bought A-B drives instead. My time was worth more than the difference in cost of the drives.

Yes, I normally exclusively deal with A-B products, and their support systems are so much better..

I have been sent a small manual (attached), but unless I can get this Lantronix software to see the devices, there is not much that I can do, other than buy some analog output cards for the IDEC PLC (not even sure if I need speed control on this project yet - I do have some spare digital inputs/outputs for run feedback/command signals).
