Hello my friends,

if we want to enter the setpoint of a PID controller from an HMI, we use engineering unit. For instance, if we have a level controller, we insert the setpoint in % of level. my question is where and how this engineering unit is converted to raw value (0-32767) in the PLC/RTU? will this happen in HMI or in PLC/RTU? I am confused because when we scale something, it means we convert it from raw value to eng unit. here we are doing reverse.

Thank you
