Using S5 Analog Inputs

Hi everybody,
Should we use the S5 analog input cards with a range card? Or we can use S5 analog inputs cards without using a range card inside?

Actually I have problem using analog input card on a S5 simulator. The CPU model is 945 and analog card model is 460-7LA13. I try to use FB250 for reading analog values. The fB250 error bit is always set and the accumulator 1-L contain the value FF.

If you use these 135U/155U series analog cards without a range module then there's no connection from the sensor to the measuring circuit in the card. Therefor you will get wire broken detection signals.

Dear Jean,
Thank you very much for your help. If I use another CPU models then can I use the analog cards withaout a range card?
Aslo can I solve the range card problem with shortage of some points on the back of the connectors (for 500mV and 50mV voltage range)?
