I know this is not my thread but this is good stuff…
Most likely was this encoder designed to run at a faster speed? hence the originator of the equipment had a lower resolution? or there was not a reason to care about the feed back precision it was not being display?
If …say you have this issue, could you scale the input to ‘lesson the impact’?, if you scale to IPM verses FPM would this help and make the "quantizing error" not as noticeable?
