SLC 500 RJ45 PINOUTs

Hi All
Im searching like crazy for RJ45 DH485 pinout on SLC 500 and cant find it on rockwell site. Anybody care to point me in right direction or just make it available 2 me.

A-B makes a bunch of cables that go into that RJ-45 jack on the SLC-500 controllers, so search for the pinouts of those cables.

1747-C10
1747-C11
1747-C20

Go to support.rockwellautomation.com and search the Knowledgebase with the keyword "1747-C10"

One of the documents you will find is:

G19456 - DH-485 Cables used with SLC-500 processors and the 1747AIC

which includes the cabling of that connector.

I assume you're going to have a followup question or two.

just in case you're trying to "home brew" a cable to go from the SLC's RJ-45 port to the serial port on a programming computer, STOP and ask some more questions BEFORE you hook it up ... that trick has been tried before and it WILL NOT work ...

This pinout stamped on 1747-PIC converter:

Pin 1 - TXR+
Pin 2 - TXR-
Pin 3 - +24V
Pin 4 - OV
Pin 5 - RTS
Pin 6 - SHLD
Pin 7 - 0V
Pin 8 - +24V

Just keep in mind that this is NOT and simple RS485 port, it needs additional control line and correct timing from your computer.

Look for 1747-PIC or 1747-UIC or third party replacements.

Just making a cable to plug into a 1761-AIC converter. The time it takes to get one into Saudi Arabia is ridiculously long.

Ah, what you want then is a 1761-CBL-AS09.

Those are relatively simple and painless to make.
