While a different question, this is a continuation of the issue here: http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=122171

I just went online with this system and I am receiving faults from the device related to versioning.

The EDS File states:

Code:
[File]
        DescText = "IE-4000-8GT4G-E 12-Port-Managed Switch";
        CreateDate = 03-18-2014;
        CreateTime = 16:31:15;
        ModDate = 10-24-2018;
        ModTime = 07:00:00;
       [B] Revision = 1.3;[/B]
        HomeURL = "http://www.cisco.com/";

[Device]
        VendCode = 939;
        VendName = "Cisco Systems";
        ProdType = 44;
        ProdTypeStr = "Managed Ethernet Switch";
        ProdCode = 7;
        [B]MajRev = 5;[/B]
        [B]MinRev = 4;[/B]
        ProdName = "IE-4000-8GT4G-E";
        Catalog = "IE-4000-8GT4G-E";
        Icon = "Switch.ico";

If I view the device is RSLinx I see the following:

attachment.php

This does not match either of the revisions shown above? (Note I am running CISCO IOS 152-4.EA9 on the device).

Studio 5000 won't let me change it to any version beyond 5.xxx:

So the fault if I keep compatible keying enabled is:

Code:
(Code 16#FF19) Invalid configuration script

Did you actually flashed IE4000 to the latest FW?
Based on RLinx, it appears that you are running CIP ver 1 that is very old.
What is your IOS rev?

Looks like current is lined up with Stratix 15.2.7 - this should give you CIP version 7.xx (like Stratix)

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286254965/type/280805680/release/15.2.7E0s

That revision will probably give you updated EDS as well (upload EDS) to resolve the issue in another thread.

Hi einnh,

I know it's a bit of a different issue here, but it's still for the same device and still seems to be EDS related.
So you probably could have kept this in the other thread? It gets a bit messy now going over and back so...

...could you please go to the other thread and consider my last proposal?...

...if not a runner we can come back here and carry on where Contr_Conn left off?...

G.

I can continue it over there if needed. This was more related to fault messages though I thought for SEO/others googling, it might be best separated. (I know I Google a lot for these issues and appreciate good SEO haha).
