hello guys

I have panelview 900 and I need to upload the program from it using:

(dh485 to rs-232 converter) from the (RJ45 of PV) to computer
and SLC 05/02

I used 1747-PIC / AIC+driver in rslinx...
rslinx didn't show the PV...
how can you help me...?

thanks

Please post the complete catalog number of your panelview.

Also tell us more about this DH485 to RS232 converter model number/catalog number?

Cables?

my PV is: PANELVIEW 900 2711 K9A2 SERIES 100-240VAC DH485

I used 1747-PIC to connect PV to Laptop....and the PV connected to SLC 05/02 cpu

On your laptop, do you have a real RS232 port or are you using a USB to RS232 adapter?

The 1747-PIC requires a real serial port. The USB/RS232 adapters just do not work due to timing issues with the hardware.

Have you used this PIC to talk with the SLC 5/02?

So, do you have your PIC plugged into the PV while you also have the SLC plugged into the other DH485 port? I suspect that you cannot do that without using an Isolated Link Coupler. The 1747-AIC was typically used when you networked these devices.

I have a real RS232 port
also I used the PIC to program the SLC and it's worked
I plugged PIC into the PV while the SLC plugged into the other DH485 of PV..

Is there any way to use the hardwares I have to upload the program from PV without using 1747-AIC..?
because I don't have the AIC right now...

thanks for helping

Just the other day i had to get a program out of a DH485 only PanelView after trying to connect in the RJ45 plug on the PV I ended up taking the cable out of the SLC and plugging this cable into my 1747-UIC, the cable from the SLC to the PV when plugged into the PVC end is in the large socket not the RJ45 socket, I beleive this is the only way to talk to these terminals, not sure what the RJ45 socket is for.

Your PIC should work baud rate must be the same-node addresses must be different. See PDF below.

Another option is to use a memory card to upload/download the PV's program. See link, chapter 4

I did that...the baud rate is same...& the node addresses is different..
do I need to connect the PV to SLC while the Communicating between the laptop and PV? as in the PDF...
and is there anything I should configure on the panelview screen for communiction..?
