So I have been on site this week doing integrations, and issue came up where I need to talk to an old PLC5.
I tried using the path I usually use which is a "2" followed by a comma and then the IP address of the remote PLC. This resulted in an error. After a suggestion from one of the hold hands on site I tried some different numbers, 3 ended up being the magic one. After looking though the help file it seems to have something to do with "Channels" but I didn't find and explanation of what EIP channels are.
So can some one explain what these EIP channels are and why you need to use a different one on a PLC5?
