im looking for the pin out for the ROUND 8PIN PLUG rs232 AND RS485 on a AB1100 and 1400

Im having issues with a RS485 project use pin 1 and 8 is that right? im using a home made cable i did order a 1763-nc01 plug but that will not be here till next week

thanks

Yes, Pin 1 and Pin 8 are the RS485 data pins.

Pin 2 is data ground; if your RS485 device has a "data reference" or "data common", connect it to Pin 2.

If your RS485 device has no data reference and uses ground or the cable shield, connect Pin 2 to that.

That's not quite all
there is +24VDC and -24VDC as well as communications
I am not sure exactly what pins they are but it is used to power cables, converters and other devices.
If I get a chance I will see what I can find and post it later
