Hello,
I'm not very experienced with plc's. Starting out.
Is there a way to connect with Ethernet without using rs232. Unkown ip address. I can't go online with rs232. My other plc works fine. So I guess sothing wrong with the port.
Thank you

You can in fact connect via RS232 in order to configure and/or determine the IP address of the controller. Assuming that the serial port of the SLC is at it's default configuration of DF1. You must use what is called a Null Modem cable like the 1747-CP3 or 1756-CP3.

Can you share some information about what you have to work with here? RSLinx version, cables/adapters you have, operating system?

edit: When you say that your other PLC works fine, does that mean that you can connect fine over the RS232 port?
