Downloading Program to TP177B with PC Adapter USB

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to download my wincc flexible project to TP177B mono via PC Adapter USB or USB-PPI cable?

PC Adapter USB has the problem that it needs 24V from the port it is attached to.
There is no 24V in the MPI/DP port on the TP177B, so the way to do it is to connect the PC adapter USB to the MPI or DP port on the S7 PLC via a Profibus connector with a PG socket. The TP177B must then be connected to the S7 PLC via a Profibus cable that goes from the port on the TP177B to the profibus connector on the S7 PLC. In this way, everything is connected together, USB adapter - S7 PLC - TP177B.

Dont know if there is any such problem with the USB-PPI cable.

This is four years ago, but thanks to the idea of using s7-plc for communication.

Recently i was able to upload/download program in TP177B DP-6 (6av6 642-0bc01-1ax1), through simatic step 5.4 sp3, using PC adapter usb (6es7972-0cb20-0xa0), without PLC.

in simatic manager->option->set pg/pc interface->PC adapter (MPI)->properties: set the address and the baud rate the same as in your TP177b dp-6.
in wincc flexible 2008 sp2 set communication: device type- tp177b, mode-mpi/dp, station address is equal to the simatic manager and your hmi.
