FactoryTalk View Studio Machine Edition Software 5.0 Crashing

after getting brave and installing V5.0, Studio kept crashing anytime I tried to open a display.
After 3 uninstall/reinstalls I gave up checked the knowledge database.


I finally came across this note and got it to work. Essentially the unzipped folder has to be moved to the root of the drive in my case C:\
