Reading MircoLogix bools & Ints to Control Logix?

hi all,

i have a plc i need to get info from for a site im working on:

I have a 1764 Micro Logix 1500 LSP Series C (See Attached Image) im trying to read from to send bools and ints to my Control Logix PLC using the MSG Instruction which in the control logix I Select 'SLC Typed Read' to read from the Micro logix.

but Im having issues with the Communication Path as it doesn't seem to work
when i enter '2, PLC IP Address' it doesn't work but im able to see this PLC in rs link and go online to it but not able to able to make online edits though.

for reference i have another plc on the same network thats a micrologix 1100 and i can read from that fine using the same method outlined above.

any help on this would be gretly appreciated.

The path needs to reflect the path the message will take as it leaves the CLX controller. Can you please identify for us how your CLX and MicroLogix are connected as well as which CLX CPU you are using.

The MicroLogix 1100 has Ethernet built into it. Most ControlLogix do not and neither does the MicroLogix 1500. So how are they being connected?

what im trying to do is setup the MSG instruction in the Control logix which i highlighted (Yellow) and what to read the Bools & int's from the Micrologix
highlighted (Green),

to do this in the controllogix msg instruction communication path i enter
2, 10.153.247.32 but this didn't work and got a communication error.

now im not sure if i need to use a different path but i tried other paths and had no luck with it.

Note: i blanked out PLC names as this is sensitive information.
