HI everyone,
I am just starting out with PLCs.
I have an applaction at work that I want to change over to PLC.
I want a sensor to detect a sheet of paper and energize a 24 VDC 6watt coil and hold that coil open for 1.5 sec.
I have looked at all the specs. and I think I am just over welemed.
can you tell me if I need a relay bank for the coils or will the PLC Relay or transistor output handle this. I will have 6 sensors and 6 coils. And I was looking to buy the CPM1A-20CDT-A.

The resistive current of the 24VDC 6 watt coil is 250ma. The coil by it's very nature is inductive. Some inductive surges can be five times this value. The outputs of the CPM1A-20CDT-A are 300ma max. I would suggest you think about a relay version of the CPM1A such as CPM1A-20CDR-A.

Jay Anthony,
Thank you for you reply. I just checked all my spec sheets that I printed out and I don't see that page anywhere. Do you have a link for that or is that something you just had.
Thanks again
Teddy
