Produced Consumed between AB PLC's

I have an 1756-L72 firm 20.18 to talk with an 1769-L18ER-BB1B firm 26. I am not able to set the firm of the L18ER controller to 26 when I add it in the L72 I/O Configuration - the highest it shows in the dropdown is 23.

Will produced/consumed tags work in the L72 even if the firmware of the added L18ER controller is set to 23 instead of its actual 26?
