Hi, this is the first time I personally will work with a Micrologix 1500, I just want to be sure of my current configuration before powering up

processor: 1764-LRP ser C
base: 1764-24BWA SER B
1769-IQ32
1769-IQ32
1769-IQ32
1769-IQ32

expansion cable
1762-PA2
1769-OB32
1769-OB32
1769-OB32
1769-ECR

I just want to be sure of the following:

- due to the density if the cards only 4 can be connected directly to the base
- power supply cannot be connected to the same bank with the PLC
- power supply can be in first slot of second bank

any suggestion or correction will be thanked

Regards

The MicroLogix 1500 will be discontinued next year, but it's still a good little controller if you don't need the features of the 1100/1400.

The base that you have, 1764-L32BWA, has 120V AC power but 24V DC inputs and relay outputs.

The configuration you describe sounds good.

The Base module that holds the CPU serves as the power supply for the first bank of I/O. The 1769-PA2 has to provide the logic power for the expansion bank.

You can place the 1769-PA2 on either side of the expansion I/O modules or in the middle. The way you have described it is OK.

It might have been possible to connect all the I/O modules to the base, because ordinary I/O modules have a "processor distance rating" of 8.

In addition, the modules you've described only use about 1960 mA of the available 2250 mA on the base.

But if you connect a network module, or use the I/O power connection, you would be getting closer to the threshold, so this arrangement is a safe configuration.
