That's odd. I've never used a Siemens text display, nevermind read the manual, yet within 1 minute I came up with this:

2------------------------------------4
3------------------------------------3
5-----------------------------------12 / 15

Tell me if i am wrong.

9 pin # 25 pin# Acronym Full name Direction Mean
3 2 TxD Transmit Data —» Transmits bytes out of PC
2 3 RxD Receive Data «— Receives bytes into PC
7 4 RTS Request To Send —» RTS/CTS flow control
8 5 CTS Clear To Send «— RTS/CTS flow control
6 6 DSR Data Set Ready «— I'm ready to communicate
4 20 DTR Data Terminal Ready —» I'm ready to communicate
1 8 DCD Data Carrier Detect «— Modem connected to another
9 22 RI Ring Indicator «— Telephone line ringing
5 7 SG Signal Ground

Note: DCD is sometimes labeled CD

NB - that took less than a minute with Google.

Sorry that the columns don't line up, it trims the spaces I added out in preview, but you should be able to identify what you need.

Sorry, but it lost its formatting (the spaces I had edited in vanished) in transmission but you should find what you need.

You got this twice because my server told me it had timed out first time round!

Sorry, I didn't realize you were looking for IF1A to PC connections (although you DID state that). I thought you only needed the pinout.

What you have looks fine... (y)

Note: If your cable doesn't work, you might need to jumper pin 7 (RTS) to pin 8 (CTS) on the PC side.

RMA, you just need to add [LADDER] before, and [/LADDER] after your formatted text to prevent the vanishing act. Here's your intended diagram:

Also, the double posting has bitten me too. You can delete the extra post (within 1 hour) by clicking "edit" and selecting "delete".

The above is correct, only you do not have to connect to pin 15 on the TD17 side.

CTS , RTS

Hi Folks

So, the CTS and RTS i just ignore it right?

For configuration of TD17, can i directly comm. with s5 115U cpu 943B
by using Flag ,eg.f100.1?

Just because i can't see any Bit address for me able to configure.

Like: Tag 1
Type, KM
Range, DB.DW ..( here no selection for bit format )
DB : 10
dw : 0

Here how can i display the address db10.d0.0??

regards

1. Yes, ignore CTS and RTS.

2. In Protool, when creating a tag, specify the type as BOOL,

then select for f100.1:
 range: M
M: 100
bit: 1

or for db10.dbx0.0:
 range: DB
DB: 10
DBX: 0
bit: 0

thanks
for db10.dbx0.0:
range: DB
DB: 10
DBX: 0
bit: 0 ---- in protool/lite no selection for this bit: .

so i can't assign it as bool for db10.db0.0.

regards

Are you trying to create a tag ?
Are you sure you selected type: BOOL ?

It doesnt make sense to assign a word address to a BOOL.

I dont think that there is a difference between Protool and Protool lite in this respect.

Hi,

The PLC i am using is S5.. and the selectable format type is KF KH

KM KY KT KC BCD. In this case i try to select KM, Bit format.

But it shawn like no Bit can let me to select.. in the address after

DB:

DW:

bit ??
