Mouse Not Autoscrolloing In Concept,rslogix Or Siemens Plc

Hello,

My mouse scrolls fine on the Internet, MS word, Excell etc. but not on any of the PLC software I have.

I know its computer related because I can use the same mouse on my laptop and I can scroll thorough all of my PLC software. What I mean by scrolling is using the middle roller wheel instaed of moving that slider on the side...what a pain...

I have Win2k on both machines, SP 4 with the latest MS mouse Intelipoint software that I just installed today to see if that would help, but did not...any ideas anyone?

PS- I set the wheel button to Autoscroll in the mouse settings

Logix5000 doesn't seem to support scrolling with a wheel-mouse, at
least not any of the mice I have tried. It has made me say non-FCC approved words at the computer screen.

Step 7 Version 5.3

The scroll wheel is supported in Siemens Step 7 version 5.3 (it wasn't in version 5.2). It scrolls in the manager and the lad/stl/fbd editor. As far as I can tell, that's the best part of this upgrade.

As for RSLogix500 version 5.50 and RSLogix5 version 6.10, the scroll wheel works in the project tree and ladder editor.

I've seen this before in some PLC programming software (RS Logix 5000 or DirectSoft), I can't remember which.
It was the same symptoms, mouse scroll would work with standard windows apps but not with PLC software.

Solution was to install the "specific" driver for that mouse not the generic windows mouse driver.

May work for you, may not...

Mouse drivers newer than Microsoft IntelliPoint 4.12 send a different type of 'event' to the active window when the scroll wheel, un rolls.

Get Microsoft IntelliPoint 4.12 (IP4_12EngALLMsi.exe : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...2a-61be-4072-abe2-e3fc3aa0eee6&displaylang=en ) drivers and you should be able to scroll in more programs.

RSLogix works fine~

My office PC's optical wheel mouse works fine with RSLogix. I can scroll up-down when I activate the frame I need.
I am using RSLogix500 running on Win2k OS, with very old RAM and Processor. I believed it's only 128 Mb RAM on P-1 processor.I can also use the scroll wheel on the WindLR, as well as WAGO.

I have no problem scrolling through the ladder rungs in Logix5 or 500. I cannot in Logix5000 (on same pc). Can anyone verify that they can scroll in logix5000?

I use a Microisoft Wheel Mouse Optical and I can scroll in Logix5K V10 and V12. I'm running WinXP Pro SP1. Granted, scrolling in Logix5K can screw up then ladder display. But it does scroll.

My MS WheelMouse Optical USB scrolls fine in RSLogix5000 V13.

Opps... I was mistaken.. my wheel mouse can scroll on RSLogix5K. one less zero makes a lot of difference hehehehe...
It's a Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse. But I didn't have the problem of messing up the ladder.

Check this one out, My wheel mouse scrolls fine with RSLogix 5000 but in RSLogix 5 Ver 6.10 The ladder scrolls down when the wheel is moved down and the ladder scrolls down when the wheel is moved up, What a trip.
