I would appreciate some advise on connecting an AB Micrologix 1000 to an AB 1336 plus2 vfd. What do I need in terms of hardware, software and cash? Also, I'd like everyone to know how much this forum is appreciated, great stuff! Thanks.

If all you need is start/stop/jog and reference, then all you need is some output wiring. If you're talking networking, have a look at the technote here:

http://www.ab.com/support/abdrives/1203/app1.html

You can put a Plus II drive onto a DH-485 network using the MicroLogix 1000 if you like, and the Plus II will emulate an SLC data table for many of it's parameter access functions.

I'm still a fan of hardwiring start/stop contacts, but if this fits the bill it's fairly straightforward to do.
