I'm a plc user and I don't understand, the function "mov". Anybody can help me?

'mov' means MOVE as in [MOV K10 D10]
Move the value of 10 into data register 10

thanks but What I meam is that how will you use it? When do you use it usually? Sorry because I just learn plc in the past few days. I hope you understand what I am saying.

If you are just learning PLC's then you need to walk before you can run.

MOV is for data manipulation (PLC's can do maths)

And asking what you usually use it for is like asking what you usually use a pencil for.

typically it can be used for putting a new value in a timer or a counter or new values in a data register that a HMI looks at for which message it will display

The list is very long.

Many of our customers do not allow us to use the actual inputs nor outputs in our code. We have to transfer the inputs to DBs then use the DBs throughout the program. Same for Outputs - DBs in the code then transfer to the Outputs.

I don't really know. But it is a requirement laid out in the SOW.
