Hi

Could anyone tell me difference between ifix, cimplicity and intellution? what is intellution and what is the history of intellution, when did it join GE fanuc. Thx.

Well from what I remember of it, Intellution was a company that developed a SCADA package called Fix, I used Fix v6,v7,v8, after that came Fix32, that was in about 2000 and used a 32 bit program base, after that came iFixand that's when GE bought them out. They were bought out in mid to late 2002 and stopped supporting Fix vXX but still supported Fix32 and iFix, from what I understand at this point they're up to iFix v3.5 and are calling it Proficy. The original iFix seemed to me be a little a little clunky in some areas but they were very good at handling tags and setting up security. I was only on 1 project that used Intellution but the monster drug on so long that we used 5 different versions before it was done. Now remember this was almost 3 years ago and I'm an instrumentation startup tech not a SCADA programer so my recollections may be a little off, but I do remember that GE bought up intellution before we were finished with the project in 2002 and between 2001 and 2002 we converted the SCADA from Fix32 to iFix and the engineer and I had to rebuild some of it because the original pages had been built in Fix v6 and converted from there.
